Applicants for all Care posts should preferably be experienced in working with young people, in a Residential, Secure Care or Community based setting and possess the skills to achieve a safe balance of Care and Control. You must be an excellent communicator and team player and have the ability to develop good relationships with young people, other professional colleagues and visitors to the establishment. You will demonstrate an awareness of your impact on others and an ability to work under pressure. You require to show a commitment to making young people feel safe and positive about themselves. You must also have a sound understanding of the Values of Social Care and of the professional role in working with vulnerable young people.
All Care Posts must be registered or registerable with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Training and familiarisation with our Policies and Procedures will be provided when taking up the post and on-going support will be given during the course of your probationary period. Education Posts must be registered or registerable with General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTC).
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) will be essential on taking up appointment along with registration with your professional bodies for the post. Please note successful candidates will be required to pay for their PVG membership/ Scheme Check or update.
